The NASUP Awards Committee and Antiracism Committee are thrilled to announce the recipients of our 2026 Antiracist Curriculum and Pedagogy Mini-Grants!
Given the complex political climate surrounding this essential work, the names and institutions of the awardees have been respectfully redacted. The two selected projects each will receive $500 in funding to support innovative, equity-driven educational initiatives.
About the Funded Projects
Professional Development for Anti-Bias Dance Education
An experienced dance educator and teacher educator will use this award to provide professional development for PK–12 dance teachers focused on identifying and reducing the effects of implicit bias in dance education. The project will equip educators with practical strategies to create more representative, equitable, and student-centered learning environments, expanding opportunities for inclusion, belonging, and student agency in dance classrooms.
Building Teacher Confidence for Anti-Bias Education
An elementary educator and school equity leader will use this award to develop anti-bias, antiracist (ABAR) teaching toolkits and collaborative learning opportunities that help teachers engage more confidently in conversations about identity, bias, and social justice. By providing ready-to-use instructional materials and structured opportunities for reflection and collaboration, the project aims to strengthen equitable classroom practices and foster respectful, empathetic dialogue among students.
Moving the Mission Forward
These mini-grants reflect NASUP’s ongoing commitment to equity, antiracism, and social justice in education. We are proud to support educators who are creating meaningful, inclusive learning environments.
Congratulations to the recipients!
