Dr. Elizabeth Vanderburg is serving as a guest editor for an upcoming issue of PDS Partners:  Bridging Research to Practice and invites article submissions around the theme of “Laboratories  for Democracy: Creating Change with School–University Partnerships to Build SEA  Sovereignty.”

With the dissolution of the U.S. Department of Education and new reforms under Executive  Orders 14158 and 14242, state education agencies (SEAs) will be responsible for funding, legal  compliance, and program oversight once managed at the federal level. This special issue will  explore how SEAs are navigating this shift by highlighting successful state-led programs and  partnerships with local education agencies and universities. The journal seeks articles that  examine how these initiatives support student populations with diverse needs and retain  compliance with federal laws like IDEA, ADA, and ESSA without centralized federal guidance.

If you are involved in innovating education through localized solutions and shared research,  consider submitting a manuscript and reach out to Dr. Vanderburg with any questions via email.
