This special issue synthesizes and systematizes the experiences and expertise of school-university partnerships (SUPs) in view of their sustainability from various national and regional contexts through a comparative and/or international analytical lens. School-university partnerships are facing critical challenges to their sustainability and longevity, and this special issue highlights how different contexts (e.g., cultural, political, structural, geographic) shape approaches to sustaining healthy, collaborative, and productive relationships between schools and universities. Going beyond the individual cases of SUPs, contributions are invited to present conceptual, theoretical, or empirical work that is relevant and actionable for international leaders of SUPs, their research, and their practice. We seek manuscripts that illuminate cross-national patterns, identify transferable strategies supportive of sustainability, and provide frameworks for identifying, predicting, and addressing contextual factors that impact the sustainability of partnerships.
